In the nearby department stores, you can buy a full-on kimono. You choose your fabric and they'll make you something like this. The pricetag on this red one says it's on sale for about the equivalent of $2,100 -- and then you also have to buy the waist sash, the shoes, the special socks, and so on. But, isn't it beautiful?

In another department store, we saw these pens. Holy cow, some of these cost over $1,000! They must be very, very nice pens. Personally I'm cool with Bic, though it may not be ideal for writing beautiful Japanese kanji.
