This Halloween lasted all weekend. On Saturday night, Jake and I went out for dinner downtown not expecting much, and wound up being almost the only normally dressed people in view. Lame us! Here’s a video highlighting our experience:
And one of the coolest, most coordinated costumes we saw:
Then on Sunday, Halloween proper, Nick (aka Pirate Nick) and Sara (aka Nancy Drew) and Pete (aka Inigo Montoya) came over all dressed for the occasion and joined us for drinks and a viewing of the Blair Witch Project.
Last week I turned 30. I was pretty excited, because… well, all years that end in zero are exciting. At zero, there was the whole being born event, which was a big day for me even though my memory of it’s a bit fuzzy (it was 30 years ago after all!). My 10th birthday was huge — it felt like I was finally growing up, and I thought it was about time. At 20, I’d heard so much about “the 20s” and it was a thrill to be entering my very own 20s. Now, at 30, life is good. Wonderful friends, fantastic family (x2 with my adoption of Jake’s family too!), and a good job. And speaking of great friends, our friend Amanda made me this gorgeous princess cake. Wow!
