2011 Rocks So Far
Hello friends! Here's a review of the past several months in our lives.
May 30, 2011 - The BolderBoulder
In reverse order... today we completed the BolderBoulder 10K race! I've been training for this for months, all leading up to today's event, and it was... awesome! Jake ran with me and we did better than I ever expected (70 minutes 45 seconds or so, about 11:15 average per mile). Okay, that might not sound fast to you runners out there, but it was a huge accomplishment for me.
My training group had a running joke about great motivators to think about as we're struggling to reach the finish. In a particularly hard workout, my coach said "Just imagine finishing and your husband giving you... um, what do ladies like..." and someone else in the group shouted "Tiffany!" It became a running joke and every workout after that he'd shout "Keep running, you've got to get the Tiffany bracelet!" and we'd all laugh. So today, to my utter shock, not 20 seconds after Jake and I crossed the finish line (and I'm just barely convinced I'm not going to faint after all)... Jake whips out a Tiffany bracelet and gives it to me. Wow! I just about did faint then. Thank you, darlin!

This was the qualifying race for the BolderBoulder. It was lots of fun, but I didn't exactly qualify... except for big hugs and high fives afterward!
April 22, 2011 (weekend) - Long Weekend in Austin
This trip inspired Jake's new goal of visiting the state capitol *and* state history museum of every US state. 1 down, 49 to go...
February to May 2011 - Gnip is Growing
We've grown from 7 people just a few months ago to nearly 25, so every day is an adventure at my job these days. Never a dull moment.
April 15, 2011 (weekend) - DWC and HRC Visit Boulder and Much Fun is Had By All
March 26, 2011 (weekend) - Beth Visits Boulder, We Explore Garden of the Gods, and Jake Turns 31 (whew!)
March 14, 2011 - Pi Day Celebrations
A business trip takes me to SF, where Emily, Melissa, Ali and I nearly miraculously converged (since we live in all different corners of the globe) to celebrate Pi Day with pizza pie for dinner and, of course, pie for dessert.
March 13-14, 2011 - Gnip at a Conference - is that a gorgeous booth or what?!
March 5, 2011 - Our Friend Benny's Mini Golf Birthday Party
February 13, 2011 - Rock 'N Roll New Orleans Marathon Weekend
We go visit Heidi in Baton Rouge and then head up to New Orleans to the race. Heidi and I do a half marathon relay (she does about 8.6 miles and I take the final 4.6 or so - thank goodness! Heidi you're the best!) while Jake does the full marathon. This trip also marks Jake's first experience at Sonic, which of course warranted photos.
February 10, 2011 - We Become Gardeners
Meet Snowflake! We've since added a couple more members of our growing plant family.
