The Bridettes Hit Boulder
Last weekend, some of my closest girlfriends converged on Boulder, and we spent the weekend celebrating my impending transition to married life. Robin was the first to arrive, and after a lovely lunch and a visit to the Boulder Safeway (yes, I know how to show visitors a good time!), we spent Friday afternoon hiking all the way to the top of Mount Sanitas.
More girls arrived, and we started the celebrations off posing with our new Quist doormat.
We did a mini-hike to the lower vista point at Sanitas to admire the plains.
Next was Banjo Billy's Bus Tour of Boulder. We hopped on and learned all about various crimes and hauntings all over town. The bus driver suggested stopping for some refreshments along the way, and his musical taste was impeccable, so we found ourselves sipping champagne and belting out 80's power ballads into his microphone (is it on? I'm not sure... maybe it's on. no, it's not on. or is it on?) along the tour.
After tapas and exploring downtown, we had manicures and prepared for our night on the town. The girls showered me with gifts (a day at a spa! a book with special memory pages by each of them! and some things not fit for mention on a public blog...), they surprised me with a giant veiled tiara (and pink tiaras for each of them!), and then we all headed out on the town.
We had dinner, started our own private dance party at Bombay Bistro, and ate the Forbidden Dessert (Pizookies at BJ's, which Jake is boycotting in the name of nothing-should-be-that-delicious). We had a lazy brunch the next morning, and while most of the girls headed to the airport, Tamar and I had a wonderful afternoon of talking and relaxing.
