Happy Wedding, Nick and Sara!

Last weekend our friends Nick and Sara got married in their backyard. Sara made her own dress and Nick got some special black 5-toed shoes for the occasion. They're fantastic dancers! It was a beautiful evening and everyone had a lovely time.

They set up a dance floor and several tables in their backyard. Nick and Sara's families came from Montana and Louisiana for the occasion. Parasols and fans were distributed to everyone - they were cute and useful in the heat of the day.

Amanda made Sara's stunning cherry blossom wedding cake and Nick made homemade beer and sparkling wine for the event.

Goodbye Gnip!

It has been an adventure and an honor for me to work with the Gnip team for the past year and a half, and today is my last day.

Last week the team surprised me with a going away party on the roof of the Rio in downtown Boulder. I couldn't believe it. I was touched and flattered. Huge thanks to Bre, Kim, and Jud for making it happen.

We also had a party at Boulder's swankiest restaurant, Frasca, last week to celebrate our latest sales milestone. Our personalized menus were awesome, complete with a title made of ASCII. I'm pretty sure it starts with "Gong!" (because we strike a gong every time a customer signs on). So this was a big gong for us.

The Gnip team is an impressive bunch of folks. They're smart, hard-working, and lots of fun, too. Gnip continues to grow and I'm standing by eagerly to see what they accomplish next. In the meantime, I'll be moving on to my own next adventure.

New Friends and Old Friends

In the past few weeks, we've been fortunate to enjoy lots of new friends and old friends.

Our new friends Seth and Jenny brought our newest friend, baby Danby, into the world a few weeks ago. I was fortunate to get to hold her... at age 5 days. What an experience. Welcome to the world, Danby!

Our old friends Emily and Ian came through Boulder on a visit as they make their way to Missoula, Montana. We had a feast at Japango and got to spend a couple great evenings with them.

We attended our incredibly talented friend Benny's classical guitar performance on the Pearl Street Mall the other weekend. We saw Benny immediately before attending the Indigo Girls concert here in Boulder. Both were guitar shows, but vastly different both in musical genre and fan base :) We got to see our newly-engaged friends Miriam and Clark and our newly-anniversaried friends Caitlin and Cory there, too.

My friend Amanda and I organized a surpise mini-bachelorette party for our friend Sara. Amanda cooked us a feast including cake white cake with almond extract and a layer of raspberry. Wow. So delicious. (I learned that I actually like the taste of fondant, too -- well, Amanda's anyhow...) We had lots of fun and I think Sara was very surprised. Success!

And now I'm sitting here typing now on my very newest friend, my new Macbook Air. Her name is Arial.

Looking forward to more time with friends in the weeks, months, and years to come!
